If you are applying for funding from a large, peer-reviewed granting body you are advised to contact the Tumour Bank well in advance of the final date for grant applications, are encouraged to include in the budget an amount for provision of tumour samples. This is a legitimate budgetary expense in research grant applications. Applications for Tumour Bank samples will be considered if funding is pending.
Before applying to access tissue held by the Molecular and Clinical Pathology Research Laboratory (MaCH R) Tumour Bank it is important that all of the appropriate approvals have been obtained. Site Specific Assessment
For research governance approval a Site Specific Assessment will need to be completed for each site. This SSA component forms part of the NEAF form.
Clinical and Statewide Services Research Committee Approval
All research projects undertaken with the branches of CaSS (either by CaSS staff or by researchers using CaSS resources) must gain administrative approval from the Chief Executive Officer, CaSS via the CaSS Research Committee. The CaSS Research Committee can be contacted via the Coordination Planning and Research Unit, CaSS.
